Short chronology of our company history 1956     Spichtig & Co. was founded by Hans Spichtig who acquired a small, existing plastics moulding company in Steinen/SZ. 1960 A factory was built in Frauholz, Steinen to relocate the company from the centre of the village. The business was then expanded with the installation of the first fully automatic press. 1967 Saw the commencement of systematic expansion of in-house articles for office and organisational needs under the styro brand. 1970 Spichtig & Co. changed from being a partnership to Spichtig AG, Kunststoffwerk, Steinen. 1973 Saw the construction of an additional factory with approximately 2000 m2 floor space. Establishment and expansion to include a modern injection moulding shop and tool-makers. 1976 Founding of the affiliate Mod-Systems Inc., in Greer, South Carolina/USA. 1983 Establishment of styro GmbH Kierspe, Nordrhein-Westfalen, as a subsidiary. 1991 Construction of business premises in Schillingsfürst (Bavaria) and relocation of styro GmbH to Schillingsfürst. 1996 Stefan Spichtig took over as managing director. 2003 The Hansa World of Office brand in Norderstedt (Hamburg) was taken over and integrated into styro GmbH Schillingsfürst.
